In October 2018 The Rebels of Tijuana released “Asile”, a double album recorded on tape at the Back To Mono Studios with Christian Hierro.
Shifting into a surreal kind of French, the songs travel between influences of both the past and the present while embracing a poetic horizon endowed with psychedelic pleasures and cinematic pop. Gram Parsons, Nino Ferrer and other heroes from the seventies whirl in the ring of light.
With many albums, singles, EPs, compilations, European tours, big festivals (Paléo, Printemps de Bourges,...), along with acting as opening support band for Jon Spencer, the Charlatans and Sallie Ford to name but a few, The Rebels of Tijuana have built a solid reputation as a hyperactive rock n'roll band, acknowledged by the French, Swiss and Canadian press (Philippe Manœuvre, Canal +, Rock & Folk, Les Inrocks, RTS, Couleur 3, Le Mouv', FIP, Ouï FM, CISM & CIBL). Also the founding group of The Pop Club Records label, they have signed various songs for US and Australian TV shows ("You're the Worst", "Beyond", "Offspring", "Very Bad Girls"), as well as the latest "Orangina" ad in the UK.
